At the moment, I have been impressed by the political differences between evolution and creation of political ideologies. Progress will never lose out in the long run, but in the short run is hampered by the need to be rooted in reality and to incorporate both pesky real world facts and the foundations of political thought that came before.

Creationism, on the other hand, while usually just plain wrong, has the advantage of being spun out of the will of the creators. All you have to do is keep spinning, keep moving the target, and smoke and mirrors will look just like the real deal. When you work full time and have a family, you have less time to check to see that everything being said around you is valid. Maybe that guy on the corner was a terrorist. Maybe there would have been a mushroom cloud. And wouldn't that be awful?
